PhonePe Unveils ‘Credit Line on UPI’ Feature to Revolutionize Payments
PhonePe, one of India’s leading digital payment platforms, has introduced a new feature called ‘Credit Line on UPI’ to its users. This innovative feature allows users to access a credit line directly through the Unified Payments Interface (UPI), enhancing their ability to make transactions even when their bank balance is low.
How It Works
The ‘Credit Line on UPI’ feature enables users to link a pre-approved credit line to their UPI account on PhonePe. This allows them to make payments or transfer money through UPI even if they do not have sufficient funds in their linked bank account. The credit line acts as a backup fund, ensuring that the payment goes through seamlessly.
Users can apply for the credit line via the PhonePe app, with evaluations based on their credit score and financial metrics.
Once approved, the credit line is instantly available for UPI transactions. Repayments can be made directly through the app, and users are notified about their outstanding balance and due dates to ensure timely payments.
