Cash App has officially integrated Afterpay, allowing customers to use buy now, pay later (BNPL) services at online merchants. The partnership launches under a new unified brand, Cash App Afterpay, featuring a refreshed logo for checkout.
The rollout begins with Pay-in-4 options, with Pay Monthly plans expected soon. Nick Molnar, Global Head of Sales at Block and Afterpay co-founder, highlights the integration’s impact: Cash App’s 57 million monthly users provide merchants with a broader customer base, while consumers benefit from more accessible, non-traditional payment solutions.
The move follows Block’s $29 billion acquisition of Afterpay in 2020, a deal completed just before BNPL valuations declined. With Klarna’s upcoming IPO projected at $15 billion, Cash App Afterpay is positioning itself as a major force in the evolving BNPL market.
