In a European first, Nordic challenger bank Lunar has introduced a virtual assistant powered by GenAI Native Voice technology, utilizing the advanced GPT-4o model. This AI-driven assistant provides 24/7 personalized customer support without queue times, handling both simple and complex queries instantly.
Unlike traditional systems that rely on converting voice-to-text and back to voice, Lunar’s GenAI Native Voice Assistant uses a voice-native AI model. This enhances conversational abilities, allowing for smooth dialogue, interruptions, and more natural interactions. The technology is expected to transform customer service by offering a more intuitive and accessible banking experience.
“Our GenAI Native Voice Assistant addresses common pain points like long wait times while making banking more accessible, particularly for those who may struggle with digital interfaces,” said Kåre Kjelstrom, CTO of Lunar.
Currently in its beta phase, Lunar expects the assistant to eventually handle up to 75% of all customer interactions.
