Qlarifi Raises £1.4 Million to Build BNPL Credit Database

Fintech startup Qlarifi has secured £1.4 million in pre-Seed funding to develop a comprehensive BNPL consumer credit database. The round was backed by HoneyComb Asset Management, Carthona Capital, and angel investors, including Australian rugby legend John Eales.

Qlarifi’s platform aggregates BNPL borrowing and repayment data across multiple providers, giving lenders a complete picture of consumers’ credit activity. The company highlights the rapid growth of BNPL in the UK, with 415,000 applications processed daily, far surpassing the 68,000 daily credit card applications.

Co-founder Loic Berthou sees this as an opportunity to help lenders make better underwriting decisions while enabling consumers to build positive credit histories through responsible BNPL use. He states, “To us, it was clear— we’re glad that our investors agreed.”
