London-based BNPL fintech Zilch is expanding its payment options by launching a physical card through a strategic partnership with Visa. Already popular among UK consumers, with one in seven working adults using Zilch’s virtual card via its app or mobile wallets, the firm is now catering to customers who prefer the tangibility and security of a physical card.
The new card will enable users to shop at over 150 million merchant locations in more than 200 countries, both online and offline, through Visa’s global payment network. It retains the flexible repayment options that Zilch is known for, allowing customers to spread payments with ease.
Launching in September, the card will be available to existing Zilch customers. The fintech hopes this addition will encourage more of its users—particularly the 50% who currently stick to online purchases—to start using the service in-store.
Zilch CEO Philip Belamant said the Visa partnership allows the company to integrate its AI-powered, ad-enabled payments engine into both digital and physical retail environments. This expansion aims to deliver savings for consumers while helping merchants improve margins.
