Barclays Expands Microsoft Copilot AI to 100,000 Employees Worldwide

Barclays Bank is rolling out Microsoft 365 Copilot to 100,000 employees globally, integrating the AI tool into its internal productivity platform. The deployment follows a successful pilot with 15,000 staff and will create a unified AI assistant for tasks like travel booking, HR inquiries, and policy compliance checks.

The bank will also introduce an agentic dashboard via Microsoft Viva, offering personalized support for workspace bookings, leave requests, and company announcements. This expansion builds on Barclays’ existing use of Microsoft Teams and Viva Engage for collaboration and internal communications.

Craig Bright, Barclays’ Group CIO, stated: “This Copilot integration marks a major step in streamlining how we work. By combining AI with our productivity tools, we’re enhancing efficiency and creating more intuitive employee experiences.”

The move underscores Barclays’ commitment to AI-driven operational improvements, following its broader adoption of generative AI for data analysis and customer service enhancements.
