Mondu Expands European B2B Payment Network Through Strategic Partnerships

Berlin-based fintech Mondu is strengthening its position in the European B2B payments market through new collaborations with Dutch payment provider Payin3 and French modular payment platform Lemonway. These partnerships aim to bring consumer-like payment flexibility to commercial transactions, offering business buyers streamlined checkout experiences and buy now, pay later (BNPL) options.

The alliance with Payin3 marks a significant step in Mondu’s Dutch market expansion, leveraging its electronic money institution (EMI) license to deliver enhanced payment solutions. By integrating with Payin3‘s payment service provider (PSP) network, Mondu can offer Dutch business buyers greater financial flexibility at checkout. Malte Huffmann, Mondu’s Co-Founder and Co-CEO, emphasized the strategic value: “This integration reflects our commitment to providing merchants and business buyers with the payment flexibility needed to scale operations effectively.”

Simultaneously, the partnership with Lemonway positions Mondu to capitalize on Europe’s booming B2B marketplace sector, which is projected to exceed €338 billion in 2024. The collaboration combines Mondu’s innovative payment solutions with Lemonway’s specialized platform infrastructure to address the complex needs of modern B2B transactions. “Together with Lemonway, we’re establishing new standards for marketplace payments across Europe,” Huffmann added.

These developments come as Europe’s B2B marketplace ecosystem experiences rapid growth, expanding from approximately 20 platforms in 2010 to over 300 today. Mondu’s expansion strategy aligns with this trend, offering tailored financial solutions that bridge the gap between consumer payment convenience and B2B transaction requirements.
