Fenergo Appoints Banking Tech Veteran Hishaam Caramanli as President and COO

Irish fintech leader Fenergo has announced the appointment of Hishaam Caramanli as its new President and Chief Operating Officer (COO), effective immediately. The move marks a significant step in Fenergo’s strategy to strengthen its leadership and accelerate innovation in client lifecycle management (CLM) and regulatory technology (RegTech) solutions.

A Veteran in Financial Technology

Caramanli brings over three decades of global experience in banking technology and operations. His impressive career began in 1991 at Morgan Stanley, where he joined through a graduate programme and steadily rose through senior roles across New York, Hong Kong, and Tokyo.
In 1998, he established Morgan Stanley’s fixed income e-business, pioneering early digital transformation in trading. Later, he served as the European CIO for Sales and Trading, overseeing major technology initiatives across the firm’s global operations.

After his successful tenure at Morgan Stanley, Caramanli joined UBS in 2010, where he spent more than a decade as Global Head of UBS Neo, the bank’s award-winning digital client platform. Most recently, he served as Group Chief Product Officer at ION Markets, a key player in the financial technology space.

Driving Fenergo’s Next Growth Phase

In his new role at Fenergo, Caramanli will report directly to CEO Marc Murphy and will be responsible for product and engineering, customer delivery, and client support operations. His appointment underscores Fenergo’s commitment to expanding its global product capabilities while maintaining high service standards for its growing client base.
