Klarna Surges Past 11 Million UK Customers, Doubles Retail Partners

Klarna has surpassed 11 million active users in the UK, cementing its place as one of the country’s leading buy now, pay later (BNPL) providers. The milestone comes alongside a doubling of its merchant base to 60,000 UK retailers over the past year, driven by high-profile partnerships with Argos, eBay, Eurostar, and John Lewis.
The UK has now become Klarna’s third-largest market globally, with its UK revenues climbing 30% in 2024 alone. This growth highlights the accelerating shift in consumer behaviour towards flexible payment solutions amid changing retail dynamics.
Raji Behal, Klarna’s Head of Southern and Western Europe, UK & Ireland, says:
“Eleven million UK customers is a huge moment for us. We’ve gone from challenger to champion — and we’re just getting started. With more retailers, smarter tools and even better experiences, we’re putting power, and money, back into the hands of shoppers.”
Klarna’s continued expansion signals strong demand for BNPL solutions in the UK market, where the firm is positioning itself as not just a payment provider, but a shopping platform delivering convenience, choice, and control to consumers.
