Revolut Takes On Mobile Network Operators With Launch of Mobile Plans

Revolut is extending its disruptive ambitions beyond banking by launching Mobile Plans, directly challenging traditional telecom providers with a tech-first, contract-free mobile service.

The new offering provides unlimited calls, texts, and domestic data, plus 20GB of roaming in the EU and US—all without any fixed contract. Launching initially in the UK and Germany, Revolut users can join a waitlist to gain early access and lock in a special introductory rate of £12.50 per month.

Users will be able to activate their plan in minutes through the app, either by choosing a new Revolut-issued mobile number or porting over their existing one. Mobile Plans can also be purchased using RevPoints, the company’s loyalty scheme that rewards purchases.

The move builds on Revolut’s early success in telecoms. In 2024, it became one of the first UK financial institutions to offer global eSIMs, which customers have now used in over 100 countries—making eSIM Revolut’s most popular non-banking product.

Hadi Nasrallah, general manager for telco and retail at Revolut, says the industry is long overdue for change:

“The massive success of our eSIM product has proven that mobile offerings are ripe for disruption. Consumers are stuck with hidden fees, clunky experiences, and outdated interfaces. We’re solving all of that with tech-led simplicity, value, and no contracts.”

With mobile telecoms now squarely in its sights, Revolut is aiming to replicate the same fintech-led innovation that redefined banking—and plans to roll out the service to more countries soon.
