Tietoevry enters Germany’s ATM market with IC Cash

Tietoevry Banking has officially entered Germany’s ATM market through a five-year software-as-a-service (SaaS) agreement with IC Cash Services, strengthening its position in European cash distribution technology. The partnership will deliver a fully regulatory-compliant platform to manage and secure IC Cash’s extensive ATM network, which spans more than 2,500 locations across Europe.

The collaboration is designed to improve efficiency and reduce costs within Germany’s cash ecosystem, leveraging Tietoevry’s successful track record in the Nordics and the Netherlands. IC Cash, along with its subsidiary In2 Retail, operates ATMs in Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Spain, Denmark, and Ireland, and this agreement represents a key step in expanding its footprint with enhanced technological support.

According to Tietoevry Banking managing director Mario Blazevic, the partnership ensures secure, efficient, and regulatory-compliant access to cash. He noted that Tietoevry’s proven platform is already reducing operational complexity across the Nordics and the Netherlands, and will now bring the same benefits to Germany, including full support for the girocard system, central to the country’s payments infrastructure.

IC Cash CEO Dr. Kersten Trojanus highlighted that Tietoevry’s multivendor approach and integrated operations model provide the right foundation to scale across multiple markets. Covering all major card schemes and offering flexibility for growth, the platform aligns with IC Cash’s ambition to expand its European presence.

Initially focusing on Germany and Austria, the partnership will also explore next-generation ATM pooling solutions to drive further efficiencies. Tietoevry’s ATM services currently connect more than 10,000 ATMs across the Nordics and the Netherlands. By extending this model to Germany’s roughly 50,000 ATMs, Tietoevry aims to deliver both cost efficiency and sustainability in a critical area of Europe’s financial ecosystem.
