Nayax and Getnet Partner to Expand Integrated Payments Across Latin America and Iberia

Nayax and Getnet have announced a global strategic partnership to expand integrated payment and commerce solutions for unattended businesses across Latin America and Iberia.

The agreement combines Nayax’s payment and commerce technology with Getnet’s local acquiring network, giving operators of vending machines, electric-vehicle chargers, self-service kiosks, and other automated businesses a way to accept cashless payments across multiple markets.

The rollout will begin in Chile within the coming weeks, followed by expansion into Spain, Portugal, Brazil, Mexico, and Argentina, according to the companies.

The partnership gives Nayax a route into additional Latin American markets while allowing Getnet to expand its product offering into unattended commerce.

Nayax and Getnet Combine Payments and Local Acquiring

The partnership brings together two different parts of the payments infrastructure.

Nayax provides technology focused on commerce and payments for unattended environments. Its solutions are designed for businesses where customers complete transactions without interacting directly with a cashier or traditional point-of-sale terminal.

Getnet provides merchant acquiring capabilities across Latin America and Iberia.

By combining the two, operators can use Nayax’s payment technology alongside Getnet’s local acquiring infrastructure.

The companies say this will give unattended businesses a more integrated way to accept cashless payments while providing consumers with a familiar checkout experience.

Vending Machines and EV Chargers Are Key Use Cases

The agreement specifically targets automated and self-service commerce.

This includes vending machines, electric-vehicle charging stations, and self-service kiosks, as well as other unattended businesses.

These environments create different payment requirements from conventional retail.

A vending machine or EV charger needs to accept payments reliably without staff intervention. Operators also need payment processing, acquiring, and commerce technology to work together across the locations where their machines operate.

The Nayax-Getnet partnership is designed to address that requirement through an integrated payment setup.

The companies say operators will have a single way to accept cashless payments across their unattended machines.

Chile Will Lead the Initial Rollout

The commercial rollout will begin in Chile, with the companies expecting the first deployment within the coming weeks.

The partnership will then expand progressively into:

  • Spain
  • Portugal
  • Brazil
  • Mexico
  • Argentina

This gives Nayax access to several important Latin American markets while also strengthening its presence in markets where it already operates.

For Getnet, the agreement expands its merchant-services portfolio into unattended commerce.

The companies describe the rollout as a scalable route for Nayax to expand its regional presence.

Getnet Expands Into Unattended Commerce

The partnership also gives Getnet a way to broaden its offering beyond conventional merchant payment environments.

Unattended commerce is becoming increasingly important as businesses deploy automated services that need to accept digital payments without a traditional checkout counter.

EV charging is one example.

As charging networks expand, operators need payment infrastructure that can work directly at charging points and support customers across different markets.

Vending and self-service kiosks present similar requirements.

Getnet can combine its acquiring capabilities with Nayax’s specialized unattended-commerce technology through the partnership.

Nayax Gains a Route Into Latin America

For Nayax, the geographic expansion is a central part of the agreement.

The company will initially enter Chile through Getnet’s acquiring network before expanding into Brazil, Mexico, and Argentina, alongside Spain and Portugal.

This model can give a global payments technology provider access to local acquiring infrastructure without having to build an entirely separate acquiring network in every market.

Nayax Chief Commercial Officer Oren Tepper said the partnership will open new markets across Latin America while strengthening the company’s offering in countries where it already operates.

Getnet Global Head of Partnerships Fabrice Mendez said the agreement supports Getnet’s strategy of working with technology companies, software providers, and commerce platforms.

Integrated Payments Become More Important for Automated Commerce

The partnership reflects a broader change in how payments are being deployed.

Payments are increasingly embedded directly into the physical infrastructure where customers consume a service.

An EV charger, vending machine, or self-service kiosk is no longer simply a device that provides a product or service. It can also function as a complete checkout point.

That requires payment acceptance, acquiring, transaction processing, and commerce management to operate together.

For international operators, the challenge becomes more complex because payment preferences, acquiring arrangements, and market infrastructure differ between countries.

Combining global payment technology with local acquiring can help address those differences.

What the Nayax and Getnet Partnership Means for Payments

The Nayax and Getnet partnership is focused on a specific but growing segment of the payments market: unattended commerce.

Nayax brings its specialized technology for automated payment environments, while Getnet contributes local acquiring capabilities across Latin America and Iberia.

The initial Chile rollout will provide the first step before the partnership expands into Spain, Portugal, Brazil, Mexico, and Argentina.

If the rollout progresses as planned, the agreement could give unattended businesses a more consistent way to deploy cashless payments across multiple markets.

For payment providers, the partnership also highlights the growing importance of connecting global payment technology with local acquiring infrastructure as commerce moves beyond traditional retail counters.

Rather than building a separate payment setup for every market, Nayax and Getnet are using a combined technology-and-acquiring model to expand unattended payments across Latin America and Iberia.
