Visa has unveiled a new initiative aimed at simplifying how fintechs and business platforms integrate payments into their applications. The “Visa Commercial Integrated Partners” programme provides the tools, ecosystem, and technical framework to help fintechs embed Visa payment capabilities more seamlessly via APIs.
The programme allows financial institutions that already use Visa’s commercial platforms to deliver virtual payments and advanced data services without requiring direct technical integration with complex systems like ERP or fleet management platforms. Companies such as Car IQ are already using the service to enable in-app virtual card payments at fuel providers for business clients.
Visa claims this approach can cut supplier onboarding and integration time by 18 to 24 months, reducing the typically lengthy due diligence and development cycles. The initiative allows fintechs to focus on enhancing customer experiences while leveraging Visa’s infrastructure to enable payments with existing Commercial Card credentials.
For financial institutions, the programme also unlocks the ability to offer a range of services including payments within ERPs, mobile and vehicle apps, enhanced transaction controls, tokenisation through virtual cards, and deeper data insights on settlements.
Darren Parslow, global head of Visa Commercial Solutions, says: “By leveraging our network and Commercial APIs, we are enabling our partners to innovate faster, reduce development and distribution costs and deliver superior payment experiences to their clients. It underscores Visa’s commitment to driving the future of digital payments and supporting the growth of the fintech ecosystem globally.”
