MoonPay Adds Cash App Pay to Enable One-Tap Digital Asset Purchases in the US

MoonPay Adds Cash App Pay for US Digital Asset Purchases

MoonPay has added Cash App Pay as a payment option for digital asset purchases, giving eligible U.S. customers a new way to fund crypto transactions directly from their Cash App balances.

The integration makes Cash App Pay available inside MoonPay’s existing checkout flow. Customers can select Cash App Pay, complete the transaction and fund their purchase without leaving the MoonPay experience. MoonPay says the integration removes redirects and additional re-authentication steps, creating a simpler checkout process.

The announcement also expands the reach of the integration beyond MoonPay’s own platform. Cash App Pay is now available through selected partners across MoonPay’s network, including Trust Wallet, Bitcoin.com, MetaMask, Moonshot, Ledger, BitPay, Uniswap, Tangem, LOBSTR and Edge.

Cash App Pay Comes to MoonPay’s Crypto Checkout

The new payment option targets eligible customers in the United States.

Instead of moving money from Cash App to another payment method before purchasing digital assets, users can now use their Cash App balance directly through MoonPay’s checkout.

That creates a more familiar payment experience for Cash App users who want access to digital assets supported by MoonPay.

MoonPay describes itself as the first and only platform currently offering Cash App Pay as a payment method for digital asset purchases.

MoonPay Connects Cash App With a Wider Digital Asset Market

The partnership could be particularly important because Cash App has historically focused its digital-asset offering around Bitcoin and USDC.

The MoonPay integration gives eligible Cash App users access to a broader selection of assets available through MoonPay. Current reporting indicates that users can purchase assets such as Ethereum, Solana, XRP and USDT, subject to eligibility and availability.

This effectively connects Cash App’s payment ecosystem with a much wider digital-asset market.

For users, the change could reduce the number of steps required to move from familiar payment services into the broader crypto ecosystem.

Checkout Experience Designed to Reduce Friction

MoonPay says customers can complete purchases through a one-tap Cash App Pay experience after linking the payment method.

The process avoids additional redirects and repeated authentication during checkout. That matters because payment friction remains one of the biggest barriers to mainstream digital-asset adoption.

A simpler payment flow could make it easier for existing Cash App users to explore assets outside the platform’s core crypto offering.

The integration also extends to MoonPay’s network of partner applications. Users can access the payment option through selected wallets and crypto platforms that already use MoonPay’s infrastructure.

MoonPay and Cash App Focus on Payment Choice

Ivan Soto-Wright, CEO and co-founder of MoonPay, said Cash App already serves tens of millions of Americans who manage money through the platform.

He described the integration as a way to give those users access to the digital-asset ecosystem through a payment method they already recognize.

Morgan Kuntze, Global Partnerships Lead at Cash App’s parent company Block, said the company wants to give customers more choice and flexibility in how they pay.

Block continues to describe Bitcoin as a core part of its digital-asset strategy, while the MoonPay relationship expands the ways eligible customers can access other assets.

The Partnership Expands MoonPay’s Payment Network

The Cash App integration fits into MoonPay’s broader strategy of making digital assets easier to access through familiar financial services.

MoonPay already provides infrastructure for cryptocurrency purchases across wallets, applications and other digital platforms. Its technology supports purchases across a wide range of assets and operates across numerous markets.

The company has also continued expanding its infrastructure in 2026.

Earlier this year, MoonPay launched MoonPay Deposits, which allows users to fund supported applications with crypto from existing wallets while the infrastructure handles swapping, bridging and cross-chain routing.

The Cash App Pay integration takes a different approach by connecting a widely used consumer payment service to MoonPay’s digital-asset purchasing infrastructure.

Regulatory Infrastructure Remains Important

MoonPay is also emphasizing its regulatory footprint as it expands its payment network.

The company says it holds a New York BitLicense and a New York Limited Purpose Trust Company Charter. It also points to MiCA authorization in the European Union and registrations in markets including the UK, Australia and Canada.

That regulatory infrastructure is increasingly important as crypto payment companies connect traditional payment methods with digital assets.

The integration also includes an important distinction. Cash App Pay services come from Block, Inc., and Block does not provide virtual-currency services through Cash App Pay itself. MoonPay provides the digital-asset purchasing infrastructure in the transaction.

What the Integration Means for Crypto Payments

The partnership highlights a broader trend in digital finance: crypto purchases are increasingly moving toward familiar payment experiences.

Users do not necessarily want to learn a new funding process before purchasing a digital asset. Instead, they increasingly expect digital-asset platforms to support payment methods they already use.

Cash App Pay gives MoonPay another route to meet that expectation.

For Cash App users, the integration could make access to a wider range of digital assets more convenient. For MoonPay, it adds a major consumer payment channel to its network.

The integration also gives MoonPay’s partner ecosystem another payment option. That could help wallets and applications offer a more familiar checkout experience to eligible U.S. users.

A Broader Push Toward Mainstream Digital Assets

The development arrives as crypto companies continue looking for ways to make digital assets easier to access.

MoonPay’s approach focuses on connecting crypto infrastructure with existing payment behavior. Instead of asking users to move money between several platforms, the company is integrating payment methods directly into the purchase process.

Cash App Pay fits that strategy because users can fund purchases from an existing balance rather than adopting an entirely new payment method.

At the same time, the expansion shows how partnerships can bridge traditional consumer finance and the digital-asset economy.

MoonPay Strengthens Its Position in Crypto Payments

MoonPay’s Cash App Pay integration represents another step in the evolution of crypto on-ramps.

Eligible U.S. customers can now use Cash App Pay to purchase digital assets through MoonPay, while selected MoonPay partners can also offer the payment method.

The move gives Cash App users access to a broader digital-asset ecosystem while giving MoonPay a familiar consumer payment channel.

As digital assets move closer to mainstream financial services, integrations such as this could become increasingly important. The focus is no longer simply on whether consumers can buy crypto. Instead, platforms are competing to make the process faster, simpler and more familiar.

For MoonPay, adding Cash App Pay strengthens that strategy and further connects everyday digital payments with the expanding digital-asset market
