Cash App Launches Safety Hub to Help Customers Fight Scams and Secure Their Accounts

Cash App has launched a dedicated safety hub that brings scam education, security controls and customer support resources together in one place.

Cash App is expanding its focus on fraud prevention with a new Account Safety hub, giving customers a central place to learn about scams, strengthen account security and get help when something goes wrong.

Customers can access the hub through “Account Safety” in the Cash App mobile app or through Cash App’s website. The move brings several existing safety resources and account controls into a single destination.

Cash App brings scam education into one place

The new safety hub helps customers understand common scams and recognize warning signs before sending money.

Cash App’s safety resources cover scams involving social media, fake giveaways, impersonation and other deceptive tactics. The company recently expanded its consumer education library with guides explaining how scams work and what customers should do after losing money.

Cash App says its security systems monitor transactions and potential scams around the clock. Its current security platform also includes real-time transaction monitoring, scam alerts and encryption.

Customers can strengthen account security

The safety hub also gives users easier access to security and privacy settings.

One key feature is security lock. Customers can require a passcode, fingerprint, or facial recognition before they open Cash App or move money. Users can also manage notifications and other account settings from the app.

These controls are designed to add another layer of protection if someone gains access to a customer’s phone or account credentials.

Cash App also encourages customers to watch for suspicious messages, verify who they are paying and avoid sharing sensitive account information.

Support is part of the new safety strategy

The new hub also connects customers with steps for responding to scams or compromised accounts.

Users can report suspicious activity through Cash App and access customer support. Cash App says its support team is available through 24/7 in-app chat.

The company has also invested in automation and AI-powered support. According to the announcement, automated voice support now fully resolves almost half of eligible calls, while its agentic messaging support handles millions of conversations each month.

That combination of automated assistance and human support reflects a broader shift in digital payments. Customers increasingly expect payment providers to detect fraud quickly and make recovery support easier to access.

Cash App increases focus on fraud prevention

The launch comes as fraud remains a major challenge across digital payments.

Cash App currently says its security systems have helped prevent more than $2 billion in potential scam losses since 2020. The company also says it provides 24/7 fraud monitoring and real-time scam alerts.

The company has recently expanded its consumer education efforts as well. Its August 2026 safety content covers survey scams, fake giveaways, cash-flip scams and other common fraud schemes.

However, the launch also comes after increased scrutiny of Cash App’s handling of fraud. In July 2026, Block reached a $45 million multistate settlement following allegations from state attorneys general concerning consumer protection and fraud practices on Cash App. Block agreed to changes that included improved fraud protections and access to live customer service.

The new safety hub therefore arrives at an important time for the payments platform as it works to strengthen customer protection and make safety information easier to find.

A central destination for Cash App safety

Cash App’s latest move brings three areas together: fraud education, account security and customer support.

Rather than requiring customers to search through separate help pages, the safety hub gives them a central place to find information and take action.

For a digital payments platform handling millions of transactions, that accessibility can be just as important as the underlying security technology.

Cash App says it will continue investing in safety tools, education and customer support as scams become more sophisticated.
